Painting freehand, what does it mean?
It means all the dots I paint in my Dot Mandala are painted free hand, without any grids or lines or stencil or template. That’s why each design is very unique & cannot be done again even if I want to ☺️ I do not have any plans when I start about the colour combinations or the patterns they come through as I go… in simple words, my paintings guides me through the process & come on their own ❤️

Yesterday, We visited the Tramore Coastguard Cultural Centre, where our upcoming group exhibition will be held. Standing there, looking out at the sea, we couldn’t help but imagine our paintings becoming part of this beautiful space for the next month.

It’s been a while since I posted here.

I’ve had so many ideas about what to share, but I kept wondering where to begin.

Then I realised the best place to start is by introducing myself. Not just as an artist, but as the person behind AnkiNish Creations.

I’m average at almost everything.

It has taken me 36 years to be comfortable saying that.

I’ve never been someone who found one talent and succeeded overnight. I’m someone who keeps exploring, keeps changing and keeps showing up.

Hi, I’m Ankita.

I was born in India, but the artist in me was born in Ireland.

I studied Chartered Accountancy, but I soon realised it wasn’t the path that made me happy. In 2015, I started sharing DIY, art and craft videos on YouTube. I had no idea that one decision would slowly shape the creative life I have today.

In 2017, my husband and I moved to Ireland with our three month old son and started life from scratch. Two years later, I discovered dot mandala art and, without knowing the traditional method, naturally developed my own freehand style. Today, every painting I create begins with intuition.

Over the last ten years, my journey has changed many times. From accounting to YouTube, from crafts to painting. I still don’t know exactly where this path will take me, and honestly, I’m okay with that.

The one thing that has always stayed the same is hard work.

The rewards have never been consistent.

Looking back, I’m grateful for every change because each one has taught me something about myself.

Outside of art, my favourite things are simple. My family. My home. My art.

Taking a week off to be on a wifey duty ❤️ to support Nish for his Ultra train run in Vielha, Spain! That also comes with exploring beautiful towns so first stop before reaching Vielha is Toulouse. It was so lovely walking through the Toulouse streets, also known as “La Ville Rose” (The pink city) because many of its buildings are made from pink terracotta brick 🤗

My last Beginners Dot Mandala Workshop had the highest number of participants I’ve ever welcomed, and my heart is so full of gratitude.

Over the past months, I’ve had the privilege of watching people slow down, create, connect, and surprise themselves with what they can achieve. From first-time dotting to detailed advanced mandalas, every workshop has been filled with creativity, laughter, and moments of calm.

Thank you to everyone who joined me, trusted the process, and brought their unique energy into these workshops.

Summer Art & Craft Camp (3 Days) in July 2026
After the lovely response to our Easter Art Camp, I’m excited to bring back a 3-day Summer Art & Craft Camp for kids 🎨
AGE: 5 to 10 years

A fun and relaxed space where kids can explore different kinds of art and craft activities, try new things, and enjoy a creative few hours each day.

• 14th – 16th July (2nd Batch)
